Rev. Charles A. DeLaughter, Pastor

Reverend Dr. Charles A. DeLaughter is a native of Madison, Florida.  Prior to coming to Columbia, Pastor DeLaughter was affiliated with Damascus Missionary Baptist Church where he served as deacon.  He was licensed to preach the Gospel and ordained on September 7, 1980.  Reverend DeLaughter served as assistant Pastor of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Madison, Florida.  


Dr. DeLaughter received his Bachelor of Arts Degress from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida, Master of Arts Degree from Barry University, Miami, Florida and Doctoral Degree from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina. Pastor DeLaughter became the fifth pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church on March 2, 1986 and since that time the church has experienced exemplary leadership from a caring and devoted servant of God. This dedicated servant of God has been totally committed to the proclamation of the Gospel and the Spiritual growth of the church. He is also principal of Mill Creek Elementary School. Pastor DeLaughter is a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is married to the formal Linda Diane Darling, a native of Nassau, Bahamas. They have two children Charles II and Charlene; daughter-in-law, Triva Lana, two grandchildren, Sidney and Ayeden Nehemiah. Finally, Dr. DeLaughter believes that a deeply satisfying life can only be obtained through a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ and meaningful service to people.
